AGMO, Theta Edge set up JV for tech development

PETALING JAYA: Agmo Capital Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Agmo Holdings Bhd, entered into a joint venture (JV) cum shareholders’ agreement with Theta Edge Bhd’s Theta Technologies Sdn Bhd (TTSB), a subsidiary of Theta Edge Berhad, to form a Joint Venture Company (JVCo).

In respective filings to Bursa Malaysia yesterday, AGMO and Theta Edge said the JVCo aims to develop and market artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, data analytics, augmented reality/virtual reality (AR/VR), and environmental, social and governance (ESG) solutions, targeting Malaysia’s public sector.

Agmo Capital will provide ready-to-market products, lead research and development, and support private-sector marketing, while TTSB will spearhead public-sector strategies, secure contracts, and oversee project delivery.

The JVCo’s initial share capital is RM1,000, with TTSB holding 51%, with Agmo Capital holding the remaining 49%.

AGMO said the collaboration aligns with its strategy to expand through strategic partnerships, expecting positive future contributions to earnings and net assets, with no immediate material financial impact for the year ending March 31, 2026.

The group expects no exceptional risks beyond normal operational challenges are anticipated, and the collaboration is expected to be completed within 90 days.
