Southern Score Builders' subsidiary bags RM51.38mil job from Gamuda Engineering

KUALA LUMPUR: Southern Score Builders' 51%-owned subsidiary, SJEE Engineering Sdn Bhd, accepted an award from Gamuda Engineering Sdn Bhd to undertake a subcontract for RM51.38mil at Elmina Business Park, Selangor.

Southern Score Builders described the project in a statement as “Electrical Package 3: Construction and Completion including Testing and Commissioning of LV Power Cabling Works Supplied from IT USS to Data Centre Hall Busduct and Other Associated Work”.

The project will commence on July 1, 2025 and is expected to be completed on Aug 24, 2026.

According to executive director and CEO Gan Yee Hin, the contract is the first secured by its mechanical and electrical (M&E) division, SJEE, since the acquisition was completed in January 2025.

"This award underscores our deep technical expertise and our proven track record as this is SJEE’s eigth data centre project."

SJEE’s outstanding order book currently stands at about RM130mil, which provides healthy earnings visibility in the coming years, said Gan.

Meanwhile, Southern Score Builders continues to see ample opportunities for SJEE in the high-tech, data centre, and healthcare/pharmaceutical sectors.

The Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone, according to Gan, creates new avenues for the group's M&E division, particularly as multinational corporations in the medical/pharmaceutical and artificial intelligence fields explore potential investments in the zone.
