Paragon sells Johor Baru land for RM19mil

PETALING JAYA: Paragon Globe Bhd is disposing of a parcel of freehold land measuring 3.53 acres in Johor Baru to Buildcon concrete Sdn Bhd for RM19.2mil.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the construction and property development firm said the disposal would unlock and realise value in the near term.

The group is expected to record an estimated gross and net pro forma gain of RM10.39mil and RM7.89mil respectively.

Additionally, the company said the disposal would strengthen the group’s financial position.

As part of the proceeds would be use for the repayment of bank borrowings, it anticipates potential interest savings and a reduction in its gearing level.

The land is surrounded by emerging and modern industrial developments, namely Nusajaya Tech Park and Taman Perindustrian Nusa Cemerlang as well as i-TechValley.
