AmBank CFO to resign on July 1


PETALING JAYA: AMMB Holdings Bhd (AmBank) group chief financial officer (CFO) Shafiq Abdul Jabbar is set to resign on July 1 to “pursue other professional opportunities”.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, the sixth-largest banking group by assets said Shafiq, who joined AmBank on Feb 15, 2024, will be on garden leave from today.

The bank said search for a new group CFO is underway and an announcement would be made in due course.

“In the interim, Ling Fou-Tsong @ Jamie Ling, the group chief executive officer, will oversee the group finance function,” AmBank said in the filing.

Shares of AmBank closed down by almost 5% or 26 sen at RM5.05 a share, giving it a market capitalisation of RM16.74bil.
