HANOI: Investors had high expectations for the performance of Vietnam’s stock market in the first quarter, but instead, the market recorded its weakest first quarter in three years.

The market benchmark VN-Index managed a modest increase of just 3.16%, falling significantly short of historical trends and expectations.
