KUALA LUMPUR: Malakoff Corp Bhd’s solar arm, Malakoff Radiance Sdn Bhd, has expanded its collaboration with Northport (M) Bhd for the second phase of their solar energy initiatives.

The partnership was formalised with a solar power purchase agreement on Feb 10, 2025. The new rooftop solar project at the CT2 building will have a total capacity of 2,025.81 kWp (1,600 kWac), increasing Northport’s total solar capacity to 4.4 MWp.

In a statement, Malakoff said the new partnership followed the successful completion of a 2.4 MWp rooftop solar PV system in December 2022.

“This achievement marks a significant milestone in Malakoff’s renewable energy (RE) efforts. Building on this success, Malakoff Radiance is now moving forward with Phase 2, which involves the installation of a new rooftop solar PV system at Northport’s CT2 building in Pelabuhan Klang,” managing director and group chief executive officer Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib said.

Malakoff is expanding its renewable energy efforts while maintaining Malaysia’s energy security. Through Malakoff Green Solutions, it has built a 173 MW renewable energy portfolio, including large-scale solar, commercial and industrial solar projects, small hydropower, and carbon-free mobility infrastructure.
