MHB inks deal with FuelCell Energy

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings Bhd’s (MHB) wholly-owned subsidiary, Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Sdn Bhd (MMHE), has signed a joint development agreement (JDA) with US-based FuelCell Energy Inc.

The JDA aimed to co-develop large-scale hydrogen production systems and technologies across Asia, New Zealand, and Australia, said MHB and FuelCell Energy in a joint statement yesterday. It came following a memorandum of understanding signed in February 2023.

“The collaboration underscores FuelCell Energy and MHB’s commitment to advancing green energy solutions and supporting global decarbonisation and energy transition goals,” said the statement.

FuelCell Energy will bring in its solid oxide electrolyser technology while MHB will provide large-scale fabrication to develop modular solutions that support rapid deployment of commercial hydrogen production. — Bernama
