Bursa Malaysia ends lower, RichTech Digital surges 28%


KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia closed lower on Monday, contrasting with the gains seen in other regional indices, as over 700 shares ended in the red.

The benchmark FBM KLCI fell 8.84 points, or 0.56% to 1,582.76 after moving between its intraday high of 1,592.48 and low of 1,580.94.

All indices on Bursa Malaysia, apart from the Bursa Malaysia Transportation & Logistics Index, were down.

Losers trailed gainers by 715 to 313, while 465 counters traded unchanged. Volume was almost three billion shares valued at RM1.96bil.

PETRONAS Dagangan is the biggest loser, easing 58 sen to RM19.20. Heineken shed 30 sen to RM27.30, PETRONAS Gas fell 30 sen to RM17.44 and Allianz lost 30 sen to RM18.10.

F&N was the top gainer, rising 28 to RM26.50, followed by United Plantations, which climbed 24 sen to RM31.72, and CI Holdings rose 12 sen to RM2.68.

ACE Market debutant, RichTech Digital rose 28%, or seven sen to RM32 sen with 223.13 million shares traded.

Meanwhile, the ringgit was quoted at 4.4318 against the greenback, appreciating 0.07%.

Elsewhere in the region, Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose 0.06%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index declined 0.01%, South Korea’s Kospi closed added 0.75% and China’s CSI 300 Index gained 0.21%.
