Master Tec secures RM108mil contract from TNB for underground cables

KUALA LUMPUR: Master TEC Group Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Master Tec Wire & Cable Sdn Bhd (MTWCSB), has secured a RM107.75mil contract from Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB).

In a statement, the cable manufacturer said the contract is for the supply and delivery of underground cables and conductors for TNB’s distribution network division.

The contract has a duration of one year, with an option to extend for another year.

"This award not only validates our technical expertise but also highlights our commitment to delivering quality and reliability in power cable solutions.

“As the nation progresses toward its energy transition goals, we remain focused on expanding our capabilities to support Malaysia’s evolving electricity needs while driving long-term sustainable growth for our shareholders,” chief executive officer Tee Kok Hwa said.

Master Tec closed down four sen or 3.74% at RM1.03, giving it a market capitalisation of RM1.05bil.
