KUALA LUMPUR: Khazanah Nasional Bhd has outlined three pillars for Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) to enhance the airport operator’s operations in future, said Khazanah managing director Datuk Amirul Feisal Wan Zahir.
The three objectives will be centred around customer experience, technology and connectivity.
He said for customer experience, MAHB could look into the flow of passengers -- by reducing the time for check-ins and waiting to ensure that passengers could enjoy the whole airport experience.
"When I say connectivity, you have to look at it from the perspective of an airline.
"What we are trying to do is they will have a network strategy, in order to connect the various people and have maybe a very small period before people can transit,” he said during a press conference after the Khazanah Annual Review 2025 media briefing here today.
Under the technology pillar, Amirul Feisal has applauded the immigration efforts in introducing MyBorderPass but highlighted that more work is needed to ensure widespread awareness and usage.
"I used it but then I thought it was still a long queue. So, all of that needs to be looked at very closely,” he said.
Meanwhile, commenting on MAHB's future leadership, he said it is still too early to determine a new lineup for the company's management amid the ongoing takeover exercise.
Last month, the Khazanah-led consortium Gateway Development Alliance Sdn Bhd crossed the shareholding threshold of 94.47 per cent, which turned its takeover offer of MAHB unconditional after eight months since the takeover offer was first proposed.
"I think, to be honest, it's way too early to look at that question. I think you have a lot of good people who are in the airport itself.
In August, MAHB appointed former Khazanah Investments executive director Datuk Mohd Izani Ghani as its managing director. - Bernama
