KUALA LUMPUR: Fajarbaru Builder Group Bhd’s (FBG) wholly owned subsidiary, FBG Builder Sdn Bhd along with Avionics Pty Ltd (APL), were awarded the Delivery Phase to the Head Contract (International) Two Phase from the Australian Department of Defence, Commonwealth of Australia.

In a statement, the turnkey contractor and property developer said the contract sum for the delivery phase is RM131.6mil, with FBG Builder Sdn Bhd securing RM75.9mil, while APL’s portion stands at RM55.7mil.

FBG said the new contract includes designing and building the Butterworth infrastructure project at the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) Base in Penang.

The total value of FBG’s work on the project has reached RM115mil as of Feb 4, 2025, with the latest contract worth RM75.9mil.

FBG Group Executive Chairman Tan Sri Chan Kong Choy sees this as a significant step forward, marking a noteworthy milestone in the ongoing collaboration with the Australian Department of Defence.

“As we continue to raise the bar, the expanded scope of the RMAF Base in Butterworth project underscores our ability to deliver complex, high-quality projects on time and within budget.

“This achievement not only reflects the confidence placed in our expertise but also reinforces our reputation as a trusted partner within the construction industry. This will also strengthen bilateral relations and contribute to the overall development of critical infrastructure within that particular region,” Chan said.
