Sunrise Shares Energy to distributeJinko Energy Storage's advance BESS in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Sunrise Shares Energy Sdn Bhd’s (SSE) subsidiary, Sunrise Megabatt Sdn Bhd (SMSB), has signed a distribution agreement with China’s Zhejiang Jinko Energy Storage Co Ltd (Jinko Energy Storage).

In a statement today, SSE said the agreement will give the company the right to distribute Jinko Energy Storage’s advanced battery energy storage systems (BESS) within Malaysia.

Jinko Energy Storage is a unit of Jinko Solar Co Ltd, a globally leading PhotoVoltaic module manufacturer and energy storage system integrator, serving more than 4000 customers across 200 countries.

Under the agreement, SSE will procure and distribute Jinko Energy Storage’s cutting-edge BESS products, including the SunGiga and SunTera series, which were designed to meet the diverse energy storage needs of Malaysian industries.

SMSB chief executive officer Matt Tan said the partnership with Jinko Energy Storage marks a significant milestone for SMSB in expanding access to advanced energy storage technologies in Malaysia.

"Jinko Energy Storage’s state-of-the-art solutions, backed by the expertise of Jinko Solar, will enable us to offer reliable and innovative energy storage systems that support Malaysia’s transition to renewable energy,” he said.

Jinko Solar is listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange with a market capitalisation of about RM45.8 billion and the New York Stock Exchange with a market capitalisation of about RM5.6 billion. - Bernama
