TMC Life Sciences shareholders vote to remove GCEO Wan Nadiah


KUALA LUMPUR: TMC Life Sciences Bhd shareholders have voted to remove executive director and group CEO Wan Nadiah Wan Mohd Abdullah Yaakob from its board of directors at an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) today.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, TMC stated that 99.9793% of shareholders voted via a poll in favour of the resolution to remove Wan Nadiah, 40, at the EGM.

Meanwhile, 0.0207% of shareholders voted against her removal.

In a filing on Dec 4, TMC reported that following a domestic inquiry and deliberation by the independent panel, Wan Nadiah was found guilty of all five charges of misconduct against her.

“The board will proceed with the next phase of the disciplinary process and determine the appropriate disciplinary action for Wan Nadiah,” it said.

Last month, TMC received special notices from major shareholders, Sasteria (M) Pte Ltd and Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, to requisition an EGM to remove Wan Nadiah.

Sasteria and Tunku Ismail together hold more than half of the total voting rights in TMC.

TMC announced of Wan Nadiah's suspension as group CEO, and as CEO of its subsidiary Thomson Hospitals Sdn Bhd on Jan 29.
