Betamek teams up with ITPSB for SafeSync360 project

KUALA LUMPUR: Betamek Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Betamek Research Sdn Bhd (BRSB) has entered into a research collaboration agreement (RCA) with the Institute of Technology PETRONAS Sdn Bhd (ITPSB), a subsidiary of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS.

The collaboration focuses on the development of an innovative project titled “SafeSync360: Next-Gen Infotainment with Child Guard Technology”, Betamek said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

This project aims to push the boundaries of automotive safety and infotainment by integrating cutting-edge technology that prioritises the safety and well-being of children within vehicles while providing informative entertainment content and solutions.

"The SafeSync360 project is a testament to our dedication in developing advanced technologies that enhance the safety and experience of vehicle occupants, particularly children. We look forward to the successful completion of this project and the positive impact it will have on our future product offerings,” Betamek executive director Muhammad Fauzi Abd Ghani said.

The group said BRSB will own all intellectual property (IP) generated from this collaboration. This includes any inventions, methods, processes, designs, plans, drawings, and scientific, technical, or engineering documentation created during the project. Both parties have agreed on the terms and conditions regarding IP ownership.
