Keyfield bags AHTS supply contract from Carigali-PTTEPI

PETALING JAYA: Keyfield International Bhd has accepted a letter of award from Carigali-PTTEPI Operating Company Sdn Bhd (CPOC) for the provision of a 80 tonne Bollard Pull anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel for CPOC’s offshore activities.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Keyfield said the contract, which will commence in September 2024, is for a firm charter period of two years with one year extension at CPOC’s option.

“The contract for the primary charter period is valued at approximately US$10mil (RM44.3mil), while the extension period is valued at approximately US$5mil (RM22.2mil).”

Keyfield said it will provide one AHTS with crew and on-board services to perform the agreed scope of works to meet CPOC’s requirement.

“The contract is expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets of Keyfield group for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2024, 2025, and 2026.

“The contract will not have any effect on the share capital and shareholding structure of Keyfield.”

In a separate announcement, Keyfield said it had entered into a memorandum of agreement with Fun Success Ltd for the acquisition of a secondhand AHTS vessel named ‘MV Aulia’ for RM34.6mil.

The company said the acquisition will allow Keyfield to utilise the vessel immediately for its vessel chartering business, where the gross profit margin is higher than as a third-party vessel.
