KUALA LUMPUR: The stronger ringgit failed to raise investor sentiment on Bursa Malaysia as the fear of a deteriorating global economy saw “risk-off” sentiment prevail.

The FBM KLCI was down 13.2 points, or 0.81% to 1,611.05. Aside from the benchmark, all other indices on Bursa Malaysia also recorded varying degrees of losses, with the construction sector being the largest loser, falling 5.03%.
