UEM Sunrise appoints Amran Hafiz Affifudin as director

KUALA LUMPUR: UEM Sunrise Bhd has appointed Datuk Amran Hafiz Affifudin as a non-independent and non-executive director effective July 19.

Amran, 50, is currently the executive director and head of asset development group, overseeing Khazanah Nasional Bhd’s Malaysian Investments.

He started his career in 1997 at PETRONAS, focusing on corporate finance and treasury. He later moved into private equity before joining Khazanah in 2011.

Amran was appointed to the board of UEM Group Bhd on April 15, 2022 and was subsequently re-designated as chairman on Jan 1, 2023.

He currently sits on the boards of Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd, UEM Edgenta Bhd, UEM Lestra Bhd, PLUS Malaysia Bhd, PLUS Expressways International Bhd, Projek Lebuhraya Usahasama Bhd, Cement Industries of Malaysia Bhd, Cenergi SEA Bhd, UEM Builders Bhd, Iskandar Investment Bhd, Konsortium ProHAWK Sdn Bhd and several private entities.

Amran holds a B.Sc. in Commerce, majoring in accounting and finance from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia, United States.
