Additional RMAF base job for Fajarbaru

The additional contract brings Fajarbaru’s total value in the RMAF project to RM39mil.

PETALING JAYA: Fajarbaru Builder Group Bhd has secured an additional contract from the Australian Department of Defence worth RM15.71mil, as part of the redevelopment of the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) base in Butterworth, Penang.

As part of the amended contract, Fajarbaru said the duration of the planning phase of the project has been extended to Sept 9, 2024, from April 30, 2024, initially.

“The minor works contract (international) is now expected to be completed on March 28, 2025. Previously, the contract was scheduled to be completed on Nov 21, 2024,” it said in a statement.

The additional contract brings Fajarbaru’s total value in the RMAF project to RM39mil. Fajarbaru’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Fajarbaru Builder Sdn Bhd, and Avionics Pty Ltd were awarded the contract on July 10, 2023.

Fajarbaru group executive chairman Tan Sri Chan Kong Choy said the development is a testament to the confidence the Australian Department of Defence has placed in the group’s ability to deliver exceptional results and unlocks future opportunities in the defence sector.
