Goodyear to close Shah Alam plant


PETALING JAYA: Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is set to close down its manufacturing plant in Shah Alam in Selangor on June 30, 2024, affecting about 550 positions in the group’s operations in Malaysia.

The closure of the plant, which was established in 1972, is expected to be completed by the end of this year. The exercise is part of Goodyear’s transformation programme to deliver annualised cost reductions of US$1bil by 2025.
