PETALING JAYA: Khazanah Nasional Bhd has appointed Datuk Hisham Hamdan as its new chief investment officer (CIO) from March 6.

In a statement, the sovereign wealth fund said Hisham’s appointment allows for greater focus on building Khazanah’s capabilities as an investment institution and creating new capacity and competencies, especially to meet the company’s value creation and impact goals.

Hisham joined Khazanah in April 2011 from Sime Darby Bhd. He also serves as the chairman of UEM Sunrise and the board of Trustees of the Khazanah Research Institute.
