KLANG: Swift Haulage Bhd is eyeing a 25 per cent contribution from its warehousing and container depot services segment from the current 15 per cent.

Currently, Swift’s container haulages and land transportation services contribute 75.6 per cent to the group, followed by warehousing and container depot and freight forwarding services.

Group chief executive officer Loo Yong Hui said the company is looking at investing in warehouses within the next three to five years to match the market demand.

"We are looking at investing about RM30 million this year to construct another warehouse in the northern region, specifically Penang, as we are aggressively expanding the warehousing and container depot services segment,” he said after launching its eco-friendly warehouse and haulage office at Pulau Indah here today.

At the same event, Swift signed an integrated logistics services agreement with Sharp Electronics (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd for the provision of warehousing, storage, and handling services.

Swift’s new warehouse is located just 5.5 kilometres (km) from Westports, 25 km from Northport Industrial Park, and 74 km from Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

Featuring a warehouse capacity of 269,000 square feet (sq ft) and 26 loading bays, the new facility is equipped to handle the most demanding logistics needs of clients.

It will also have a storage capacity of 11,544 pallets and a floor storage capacity of 169,000 sq ft. - Bernama
