PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Palm Oil Association (MPOA) has called on the government to review a windfall profit levy (WPL) particularly in Sabah and Sarawak as the current levy rate is burdensome to oil palm growers there.
According to MPOA’s chief executive officer Joseph Tek Choon Yee, the total WPL collected in 2022, excluding smallholders, amounted to about RM3bil.
