Trading ideas: Destini, AirAsia X, Bumi Armada, Gamuda, Ajinomoto and Ornapaper


KUALA LUMPUR: Investors could be taking an interest in the trading stock of Destini, AirAsia X, Bumi Armada, Gamuda, Ajinomoto and Ornapaper, said Apex Research.

Destini Bhd bagged a two-year contract extension to supply non-proprietary aircraft spare parts for the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) worth RM222.25 million.

AirAsia X Bhd (AAX) has submitted an application to Bursa Malaysia to be uplifted from its Practice Note 17 (PN17) status.

Bumi Armada Bhd's floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel — the Armada Kraken — is currently operating at approximately 90% of its pre-shutdown levels.

Gamuda Bhd’s property arm Gamuda Land is purchasing a 9.1-acre site in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, for RM1.47 billion.

Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Bhd is selling six parcels of land along Jalan Kuchai Lama TS Law for RM408 million cash.

Ornapaper is buying two leasehold vacant lots in Melaka worth RM30.75 million.

Meanwhile, the US market was mixed overnight with the Dow extending its 9-day rally while the S&P and Nasdaq declined amid mixed corporate earnings.

Earlier, European markets climbed following the quarterly results season.

On the local market, the FBM KLCI gained 3.66 points or 0.26% to 1406.69 points.

"Following the recent pullback, the FBM KLCI could consolidate below the resistance of 1,437 points," said Apex.
