Bumi Armada says Kraken FPSO operating at 90% of pre-shutdown levels

KUALA LUMPUR: Bumi Armada Bhd has announced that the operational performance of its Armada Kraken floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel has returned to about 90% of pre-shutdowh levels.

The offshore services provider said in an exchange filing that it had reconditioned a failed HSP transformer and successfully installed it on the vessel.

"Bumi Armada will continue to announce material updates as and when they are known," it said.

On June 2, 2023, Bumi Armada announced that its Armada Kraken FPSO had been shut-in following the failure of critical hydraulic submersible pump transformers.

"Given the current uncertainties, the financial impact of this incident cannot be reliably estimated at this point, but is expected to be material for Bumi Armada," it said in the announcement.

At the lunch break, the trading stock of Bumi Armada was down 0.5 sen to 48.5 sen a share with 27.54 million shares exchanging hands.
