Meanwhile, the US market eked out small gains overnight as markets were closed early for the Independence Day holiday.

Earlier, European markets declined due to profit taking after last Friday’s gains following lower-than-expected inflation.

On the local market, the FBM KLCI rallied 19.21 points or 1.4% to 1395.89 points in a sharp rebound.

"Following yesterday’s rebound, the FBM KLCI could consolidate above its support of 1,372 points," said Apex.
