KUALA LUMPUR: Apex Securities expects Sunway Construction Group, Hextar Global Bhd, Haily Group Bhd, ITMax System Bhd, GUH Holdings Bhd and LFE Corp Bhd to be among the stocks to watch on Tuesday.

SunCon has received a RM253mil contract from Sunway REIT for the main building works for the refurbishment of a shopping complex and commercial centre in Seberang Perai Tengah, Penang.

Hextar Global’s unit is acquiring PHG Ever Fresh Group Sdn Bhd for a cash consideration of RM84mil to venture into the durian wholesale business.

Haily has secured a RM53.8mil contract to build residential units in Johor Bahru.

ITMAX has bagged a contract worth RM40mil from Segamat Specialist Hospital Sdn Bhd.

GUH said its subsidiary has reached an out-of-court settlement with a unit of JAKS Resources Bhd and a construction firm, over its payment claim for work undertaken as a sub-contractor.

LFE is taking over the main building works of phase two of a mixed development in Damansara for RM105mil from its 51%-owned unit.

Overnight, the US market eked out small gains overnight as markets were closed early for Independence Day holiday. Earlier, European markets declined due to profit taking after last Friday’s gains following lower-than-expected inflation.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 10.87 points, or 0.03%, to finish at 34,418.47. The S&P 500 climbed 0.12% to end at 4,455.59, while the Nasdaq Composite advanced 0.21% to 13,816.77.

U.S. markets closed early ahead of the Fourth of July holiday. They will be closed Tuesday as well.

“Following yesterday’s rebound, the FBM KLCI could consolidate above its support of 1,372 points,” Apex said.
