Ekuiti Nasional explores sale of shipping unit


KUALA LUMPUR: Ekuiti Nasional Bhd (Ekuinas), Malaysia’s state-owned private equity firm, is exploring selling shipping company Orkim Sdn Bhd and is seeking as much as RM1.5bil, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

Ekuinas is working with an adviser on the potential deal, the people said. Kuala Lumpur-based Orkim has drawn interest from companies in the industry and financial sponsors, the people said, asking not to be identified as the process is private.
