UEM Sunrise's Azmy Mahbot to take on CFO duties during transition period


KUALA LUMPUR: UEM Sunrise Bhd’s head controller Azmy Mahbot will undertake the duties and responsibilities of company chief financial officer (CFO) from April 1, following the departure of Siew Chee Seng on March 31.

“Azmy is responsible for overseeing the finance function including financial operations of the company during the period of transition, while the search for CFO candidates is currently ongoing and to provide the leadership needed to ensure business continuity,” said the company in a Bursa filing.

Azmy re-joined UEM Sunrise on Jan 3, 2023 as the head controller.

“He is a seasoned corporate planning and corporate finance executive with over 20 years of experience specialising in takeover, merger and acquisition as well as integration exercises of listed entities.”

Azmy holds a Bachelor of Commerce (accounting/ finance) degree from University of Melbourne and a Master of Science in Islamic Finance from INCEIF University.

UEM Sunrise said it will announce the appointment of a new CFO in due course.
