EPF is the safest bet

Allowing early withdrawal from mandatory retirement saving schemes which deliver an annual return of 6% in the past decade isn’t the answer to a better life.

THE topic of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) is far reaching with wide implications to the larger population of our country.

With active members of 8.39 million, the EPF has the largest number of savers across any savings schemes with an asset under management reaching close to a trillion ringgit, to be precise, RM961bil as at end 2022. Readers of this column would probably know my stand by now as I have often shared about the wonders of the EPF and its importance towards the sustenance of our ageing population in my writings and commentary in the media.
