Higher TIV from February

CGS-CIMB Research expects national brands Proton and Perodua to fare relatively better than the non-national segment, in view of the multiple new launches in 2023.

PETALING JAYA: Higher total industry volume (TIV) for the vehicle industry is expected from February onwards as players push to fulfill backlog orders amid a pick-up in production recovery.

CGS-CIMB Research in a report said that in January, TIV had increased 19% on a year-on-year (y-o-y) basis helped by recovery in production volume.
