Toyo Ventures inks interim EPC agreement with Sunway-PECC2 for Vietnam power plant


KUALA LUMPUR: Toyo Ventures Holdings Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Toyo Ink Group Bhd, and Song Hau 2 Power Company Ltd have entered into an interim engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) agreement with Sunway-PECC2 Consortium in relation to the Song Hau 2 Thermal Power Plant project in Vietnam.

Sunway-PECC2 is an unincorporated consortium comprising Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd and Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 2 (PECC2), while Song Hau 2 Power Company is a unit of Toyo Ink.

"The contract price amounts to approximately US$2.2 billion. This interim EPC agreement will be terminated if the EPC Contract is not executed by the parties within six months from the date of execution of the interim EPC agreement,” said Toyo Ventures.

It noted that the agreement outlined a framework for negotiations and discussions for the parties to establish the detailed terms and conditions for the design, engineering, procurement, manufacture, supply, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning of a coal-fired electric generation plant with a capacity of 2,120 megawatt for the thermal power plant project. - Bernama
