MAHB net loss narrows to RM9mil in 3Q

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) is making concerted efforts in seeking out revenue generation and actively unlocking untapped opportunities to strengthen its financial position.

“In addition, MAHB continues to take preemptive measures in implementing a cost optimisation plan as well as continue its cash conservation measures.

“These measures include recalibrating operational efficiencies – re-basing cost, operational process flow review and prioritising capital expenditure to conserve cash reserves to ensure that the group is able to meet its financial and operational obligations,” MAHB said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

In the third quarter ended Sept 30, MAHB’s net loss narrowed to RM9.03mil against RM182.3mil a year ago.

Revenue jumped 87.2% to RM863.6mil from RM461.33mil achieved last year while loss per share narrowed to 1.42 sen from 11.86 sen previously.

For the first nine months to Sept 30, MAHB posted a net loss of RM171.94mil, or 12.96 sen loss per share, on revenue of RM2.12bil.
