Genting Malaysia misses Macau licence

KUALA LUMPUR: Genting Malaysia Bhd has confirmed its bid was unsuccessful for a new 10-year gaming concession for the operation of casino games of fortune in Macau.

“Genting Malaysia wishes to announce that, GMM S.A. (GMM) has not been successful in its bid.

“Nonetheless, Genting Malaysia would like to express its appreciation to the Macau SAR Government for the opportunity to participate in the bid process,” it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

Macau’s government has renewed the concession periods of the city’s six incumbent gambling concessionaires for another 10 years, with Genting missing out on a spot.
