DKSH posts net profit of RM17.65mil in 3Q

KUALA LUMPUR: Touting improved revenue and profit in its latest earnings quarter, DKSH Holdings (Malaysia) Bhd says it has successfully navigated the pandemic so far with consumer demand staying relatively stable despite inflationary pressures.

The group said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia it is well-positioned to benefit from favourable long-term market, industry and consolidation trends in Asia Pacific.

"We continue to focus on winning new business, cost efficiency improvements, working capital management, and closely monitoring the short-term outlook to ensure prudent navigation of the current environment," it added.

In the third quarter ended Sept 30, 2022, DKSH posted a net profit of RM17.65mil, which was 53.66% higher than in the same quarter last year.

Earnings per share rose to 11.2 sen from 7.29 sen in the comparative quarter.

The group reported revenue of RM1.83bil, 13.5% higher year-on-year (y-o-y), mainly owing to the timing of the commencement of a major hospital tender, client growth and returning customer demand in all segments.

For the nine months period to Sept 30, 2022, DKSH's net profit rose 28.7% y-o-y to RM78.46mil, representing an earnings per share of 49.77 sen.

Revenue was RM5.39bil, up from RM5.15bil in the 2021 period.
