PETALING JAYA: NCT Group seeks to create 50,000 job opportunities through NCT Smart Industrial Park (NSIP), its first industrial park business in Selangor.
According to the group founder and managing director Datuk Seri Yap Ngan Choy (pic) NCT Group through NSIP is looking to address the shortages of jobs in the state and contribute economically in terms of stimulating the local economy and generating job opportunities.
NSIP, which will be equipped with solar photovoltaic rooftop systems, is scheduled for site clearing by next month.
Yap told StarBiz that “The development is projected to take five to seven years for completion, with Phase 1 expected to be completed in quarter four of 2025.”
By incorporating solar PV rooftop systems, he added NSIP’s tenants could save up to 30% in total energy consumption on a 24-hour operation, allowing them to reduce their cost.
“Our environmental, social and governance initiatives will also enable our tenants to combat rising operating expenses such as raw-material costs, water or carbon,” Yap noted.
He also said the group is targeting investors from the semiconductor, electrical and electronic, smart logistics and transportation sectors as well as 4th Industrial Revolution- inspired industries.
Meanwhile, Yap said the group recently participated in the Selangor International Business Summit 2022 organised by Invest Selangor, of which it received interest from potential investors.
“We displayed our unique offerings to a wide range of audiences and the platform enabled us to undertake direct peer engagement, co-investments, and strategic partnerships while expanding our business networking,” he said.
“We are also raising awareness among the investors in China and other Asean countries to invest in properties and development products under the NSIP project by leveraging on our partners, Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce and Malaysia Chinese Commerce Association’s network,” Yap added.
With consultation firms such as AGV Environment Sdn Bhd and Green Quarters Sdn Bhd backing the project, a great deal of effort is being invested to establish its reputation as a smart and eco-sustainable industrial park. Yap pointed out the group will be looking at a new level of business process automation to improve efficiency and reduce complexity.
“The industrial park will be powered by Telekom Malaysia Bhd’s latest innovations and robust digital infrastructure for both fixed and wireless connectivity, as well as digital solutions including smart services, information and communications technology (ICT) solutions, cloud and cybersecurity services,” he said.
Also, through Huawei Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd, NCT plans to incorporate ICT infrastructure products and solutions, data centre solutions and solar energy storage solutions, which will support the project in becoming a fully connected smart development.
On the energy front, the group is exploring further prospects in the areas of renewable energy such as solar and bioenergy, green hydrogen, energy efficiency and electric mobility, in the near future.
