KUALA LUMPUR: Stocks that could be in the trading spotlight on Thursday include Capitaland Malaysia Trust, UEM Edgenta, Duopharma Biotech, Hup Seng Industries, KAB, Perstima and Paragon Globe, said Apex Research.

The research firm noted that CapitaLand Malaysia Trust is buying 91.8% of the total strata floor area of retail parcels in Penang's Queensbay Mall for RM990.5 million in a related-party transaction.

UEM Edgenta Bhd is selling its 51% stake in Faber Sindoori Management Services Pte Ltd for 700 million rupees (RM40 million).

Duopharma Biotech Bhd's 3Q22 net profit slipped 3.62% YoY to RM16.35 million.

Hup Seng Industries Bhd’s net profit for 3Q22 dropped 6.05% YoY to RM3.84 million.

Perstima posted a net loss of RM1.03 million for its 2QFY23.

Kejuruteraan Asastera Bhd (KAB) is expanding its sustainable energy solutions (SES) segment through the proposed acquisition of the entire equity of Future Biomass Gasification Sdn Bhd (FBG) for RM15 million.

Paragon Globe Bhd has proposed to acquire a 42.29ha parcel of land in Johor Bahru for RM71.5 million.

Meanwhile, Apex said the FBM KLCI could be pressured and trend l;ower with support at 1,420 points.

The US market declined overnight after three-straight days of gains as the midterm elections showed no clear sign of who would control the Congress.

Earlier, European stocks tumbled as investors waited for the outcome of the US midterm elections.
