UMWT continued its strong sales momentum in September 2022 with the delivery of 9,233 units, the highest for 2022.

"Q3 2022 marked the strongest quarter for UMWT as its automotive sales grew by six per cent to 24,961 units compared with the 23,464 units in Q2 2022.

"To further refresh its model line-up, UMWT will be launching the all-new Toyota Veloz soon,” it said.

Perodua’s sales in September 2022 fell slightly to 24,626 units compared with 26,039 units registered in August 2022.

Nevertheless, sales in Q3 2022 were also Perodua’s highest for the year, with a registration of 69,011 units, five per cent higher than the 65,719 units registered in Q2 2022.

"For the first nine months of 2022, Perodua’s sales surged by 65 per cent to 196,354 units, compared with 119,093 units registered in the corresponding period of 2021.

UMW Holdings Bhd president and group chief executive officer Datuk Ahmad Fuaad Kenali said the demand for both UMWT and Perodua remains strong, as evidenced by the encouraging sales registered in Q3 2022.

He said the outstanding bookings for UMWT and Perodua remain robust, and both companies will continue to intensify production to hasten delivery to customers.

"Supported by improving supply chain and barring unforeseen circumstances, we are confident of achieving our sales targets for the year,” he added. - Bernama
