BHIC denies allegations in legal suit

PETALING JAYA: Boustead Heavy Industries Corp Bhd (BHIC) has denied the claims made in a legal suit by the main contractors of the littoral combat ship project, which includes among other things, a claim that the 12 letters of award pertaining to the project remain valid.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, BHIC said solicitors representing Contraves Advanced Devices Sdn Bhd (CAD) and Contraves Electrodynamics Sdn Bhd (CED) have filed a writ of summons and statement of claim against the company, its wholly-owned subsidiary BHIC Defence Technologies Sdn Bhd, its associate Boustead Naval Shipyard Sdn Bhd, as well as two nominee directors in CAD and CED.
