Two directors of Pertama Digital resign

KUALA LUMPUR: Pertama Digital Bhd has announced the resignation of their China-based foreign directors Pan Ding and Pan Dong effective Sept 22.

“The group confirms that both resigning foreign directors do not have any disagreement with the group’s board of directors and that they have no further matters to bring to the attention of its shareholders,” it said in a statement.

Pertama Digital had earlier in August 2022 received an overwhelming vote of support from its shareholders for the completion exercise to dispose of its entire equity interest in its China-based textile subsidiary, BeTop Group Limited for RM70mil.

“With the ownership and management transition process now complete, Pertama Digital moves forward as a wholly owned and operated local majority listing on Bursa Malaysia,” Pertama said.

Plans are already underway to strengthen the composition of the board of directors for Pertama Digital to become a pure-play digital services player, it said.

“Part of the group’s new and enhanced corporate plan is to reclassify itself as a digital and Syariah-compliant business to be able to attract new business opportunities from local as well as international business partners and interests,” it added.
