GEORGETOWN: Diversified group UDA Holdings Bhd (UDA), which is also an agency under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, has organised the UDA USHAniaga Keluarga Malaysia Carnival to help small enterprises market their products.

Chairman Datuk Norliza Abdul Rahim said the carnival in Tasek Gelugor Commercial Complex here involved almost 200 enterprises from various sectors.

“UDA wants to help entrepreneurs, especially small enterprises and those just beginning to do business, we take the initiative to identify who needs help and proceed to advise them and also help them market their products, even to overseas markets.

“We will expand the carnival to several other zones to help more of them,” she told reporters after officiating the UDA USHAniaga Keluarga Malaysia Carnival in Penang on Saturday.

Norliza said the first carnival was held at Odean Walk, Kuala Lumpur from Aug 26-28 which involved 200 enterprises from various sectors and generated RM2mil in sales, and expressed hope that the current carnival can achieve the same success in terms of sales.

The carnival campaign will last three months until October with the coverage of five locations nationwide.

The first location was Odeon Walk, while the Tasek Gelugor Commercial Complex in Penang (Sept 16-18) is the current location.
