Baba Eco’s auditor resigns after audit fee disagreement

KUALA LUMPUR: Baba Eco Group Bhd has received a notice in writing from Grant Thornton Malaysia on their resignation as the external auditors of the company.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the garden supplier said pursuant to Section 281(2) of the Companies Act, 2016, the term of office of Grant Thornton Malaysia shall end after 21 days from which the notice is given.

“The resignation of Grant Thornton Malaysia is a voluntary resignation as the company could not reach a consensus on the proposed increase of the audit fee for the financial year ending Oct 31, 2022 with Grant Thornton Malaysia.

“The board of Baba is not aware of any other matters that need to be brought to the attention of the shareholders of the company,” it said.
