MNC Wireless auditor tenders resignation

KUALA LUMPUR: MNC Wireless Bhd has received a notice in writing from Messrs. Ong & Wong Chartered Accountants (Ong & Wong) on their resignation as auditors of the company.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, MNC said Ong & Wong had been prohibited by the Audit Oversight Board from auditing the financial statements of public interest entities for twelve months with effect from Sept 7.

Consequently, MNC said the ordinary resolution 4 in the notice of the eighteenth annual general meeting dated Aug 30 is now withdrawn and will not be put forward for voting at the AGM on Oct 21.

The board is in the midst of identifying replacement auditors to be engaged and appointed by the board pursuant to Section 271(2)(b) of the Companies Act 2016 to fill the vacancy in the office of the auditors arising from the resignation of Ong & Wong.
