KUALA LUMPUR: HSS Engineers Bhd’s associate SMHB Sdn Bhd has accepted a letter of appointment (LOA) from Pengurusan Aset Air Bhd (PAAB) to be the engineering consultant providing engineering services for the proposed study and construction of a new water treatment plant and upgrading of water systems in Batu Pahat, Johor.
In a statement, the engineering and project management consultant said SMHB would commence the 72-month contract in September 2022 for a total contract sum of RM11.6mil.
Executive vice chairman Tan Sri Ir. Kuna Sittampalam said PAAB’s appointment allows HSS to extend its engineering expertise to conscientiously establish a new water treatment plant and develop an upgrade plan that is in line with the increasing needs of a rapidly-developing area.
“We are pleased to continue building on our experience in the water sector, just as we are also reinforcing our portfolio in the urban transport sector as demonstrated in the recent project management consultancy undertaking for the MRT Circle Line (MRT3),” he said.
The LOA with PAAB brings HSS’s current orderbook to RM1.5bil to be recognised in the next five to eight years.
