Allianz earnings down in 2Q


PETALING JAYA: Allianz Malaysia Bhd earnings for the second quarter ended June 30, 2022 fell 34% year-on-year (y-o-y) to RM96.6mil or earnings per share of 36.16 sen.

Earnings fell despite its revenue rising 5% to RM1.65bil on higher gross earned premiums and investment income by RM73.3mil and RM12.5mil respectively.

Allianz’s general insurance segment recorded an operating revenue of RM675.4mil, it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

The increase in gross earned premiums of the general insurance segment was attributable to higher premiums from motor and personal accident business.
