Plantation labour shortage issue seen to prolong


According to Malaysian Palm Oil Association (MPOA) chief executive officer Datuk Nageeb Wahab (pic), the scheduled 32,000 workers meant for the sector by the government were still up in the air.

PETALING JAYA: Local planters are bracing for another round of crop losses between the first and second quarter of this year, given the prolonged delay in the intake of foreign workers to address the severe labour shortage in the plantation sector.
