UEM Sunrise exceeds 2021 target with RM1.46bil sales

KUALA LUMPUR: UEM Sunrise Bhd achieved sales of RM1.46bil in 2021, exceeding its forecast target of RM1.2bil despite challenges caused by the pandemic and fewer new launches.

In a statement, the property developer said the main sales contributors were in the Klang Valley including Residensi Ava in Kiara Bay and Residensi Allevia, with sales values of RM438.4mil and RM215.7mil respectively making up 45% of UEM Sunrise’s total sales.

The Central region developments made up 71% of the total sales while the remaining contribution came from southern region products.

Senadi Hills (Phase 1) was the top contributor in the southern region with RM109.8mil worth of properties sold for the year.

The group said there was an improvement in the second half of the year owing to the reopening economy, and it is making up for lost time in ensuring that construction is back on schedule after the closure of sites during the movement control order.

Moving forward, the group said it had set a higher sales target of RM1.5bil for 2022 as it plans an aggressive launch pipeline centred on the second half of 2022.

“UEM Sunrise will continue to listen to market demands and respond with a range of relevant and quality products at the right locations, built with sustainable practices and designs, all packaged with value that is worth its price tag,” said UEM Sunrise CEO Sufian Abdullah.

He said the launches will include new phases of existing sought-out projects, namely Serene Heights Bangi as well as Senadi Hills and the Aspira-themed products in Iskandar Puteri with plans to also unveil new projects to the market.

"This includes a new mixed-use transit-oriented development on the 6.86-acre land adjacent to the Taman Connaught MRT station in Cheras and a new mixed integrated high-rise development in Mont’Kiara, code-named MK 31. Further details of these new developments will be shared in due course," he added.

As at Dec 31, 2021, UEM Sunrise’s unbilled sales stood at RM2.34bil.
