Higher revenue gives Berjaya Food a lift

Berjaya Food expects the overall operating results of the group to improve gradually for the remaining quarters of the financial year given the lifting of movement restrictions and the resumption of interstate and overseas travel.

KUALA LUMPUR: Berjaya Food Bhd’s net profit rose 12.1% to RM11.63mil for the first quarter ended Sept 30 (Q1’22) from RM10.37mil a year ago driven by higher revenue.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the group said its revenue was up 3.9% to RM187.72mil in the quarter compared to RM180.72mil in the corresponding period a year ago due to higher same-store-sales growth particularly from the Starbucks cafe outlets.
