Strong vehicle demand lifts DRB-Hicom’s income


In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, the company said revenue in the first quarter rose to RM3.51bil from RM2.74bil in the previous corresponding period. “This performance led to a pre-tax profit of RM36.3mil during the quarter, compared with a loss of RM185.3mil in the previous corresponding period, ” it said

PETALING JAYA: Rising automobile demand, augmented by better performance of operating subsidiary companies and higher share of results from joint ventures and associated companies, enabled DRB-Hicom Bhd to record a 28% year-on-year rise in revenue in its first quarter ended March 31,2021.
