Heineken earnings soar in first quarter

Managing director Roland Bala (pic) expected the business environment to continue to be challenging, especially with the introduction of the third MCO in May this year and also due to the rising commodities prices globally.

PETALING JAYA: Heineken Malaysia Bhd posted a 30% jump in net profit to RM73.54mil for the first quarter ended March 31,2021, from RM56.96mil a year earlier due to higher sales, easing of the movement control order (MCO) and cost-saving measures.

The group said it posted a 6% jump in revenue to RM547.74mil in the first quarter compared to RM515.89mil previously.
