KUALA LUMPUR: Y&G Corporation Bhd, whose share price surged to a multi-year high of RM1.50 at midday on Thursday, prompted Bursa Malaysia Securities to query the company.

At 12.30pm, the property developer’s share price had hit limit-up or 34 sen to RM1.50 with 74,000 shares done.

The regulator issued an unusual market activity (UMA) query on the sharp rise in the price and volume of Y&G shares.

It also advised investors to take note of the company’s reply to the UMA when making their investment decision.

Bursa Securities queried Y&G whether there was any corporate development relating to its business and affairs that has not been previously announced that may account for the trading activity including those in the stage of negotiation/discussion.

It also queried whether there was any rumour or report concerning the business and affairs of the group that may account for the trading activity.
